Why it matters

Keeping a customer costs less than finding a new one

Advertising brings someone in once, and charges for it. A points balance keeps them close permanently, for nothing: the card, the points and the purchase history sit in the customer's phone — not in a wallet, and not in someone else's CRM they cannot reach.

For the shopper

  • They see the balance and the expiry date instead of guessing how much they have
  • They pay with points inside the app — no reciting a card number at the till
  • Sign-up and birthday points arrive automatically
  • The digital card with a QR or barcode works in the shop as well

For the business

  • Earning and redemption rules change in the panel, with no app release
  • Expiry windows set the moment a customer comes back — a lever you control
  • Transparent transaction history means fewer disputes reaching support
  • Scattered purchases add up to one customer history rather than a pile of receipts
Mechanics

Three scenarios that produce a repeat purchase

Points on their own bring nobody back. What brings them back is the chain of earn → remind → spend — and in the app that chain is assembled in the panel, without a developer.

Cashback on a purchase

Part of the order value comes back as points. The conversion rate and the cap on paying with points are set in the rule builder.

Expiry reminder

A push goes out a few days before points are cleared — one of the highest-converting return scenarios there is.

A reward without a purchase

Welcome and birthday points are credited automatically from the date in the profile — a reason to open the app appears on its own.

Data

One balance in the app, on the site and at the till

Customers do not care where they bought: the points must be the same. The app connects to the system where the points balance lives, and the calculation itself can stay on your side — through the order.bonus.calculate webhook.

FAQ

Common questions about the loyalty programme

Can we keep our current loyalty programme?

Yes. Points can go on being calculated by your CRM or loyalty platform, with the balance synced to the app through the integrations and the Merchant API. Alternatively, the rules can live in MobiusApp itself.

Which earning mechanics are available?

Earning and redeeming points, cashback, reward points for signing up and for birthdays, expiry windows, and a digital card with a QR or barcode.

Does the loyalty card work in a physical shop?

Yes. The cashier scans the digital card's QR or barcode at the till, and a single balance stays in sync between the app, the website and the shops.

How does a customer see their points?

The app has a transparent transaction history: the customer sees the current balance, what was earned, what was spent and when points expire.

How do we remind a customer about their points?

With triggered push — for example an automatic notification a few days before points expire. It is one of the highest-converting return scenarios there is.
