Order console
A separate app for orders only. It opens at /pos, installs onto a phone home
screen and rings when a new order arrives.
It is for shops where orders are not handled at a desk: a courier on the road, an operator at a point of sale, an owner between other things. The full cabinet is too heavy for that, and an order noticed twenty minutes late means cold food in food delivery.
The console is for staff, and staff are enabled by plan: until the feature is on, there is nobody to sign in.
How to open it
Type your cabinet address in a phone browser and add /pos. For example:

Installing on a phone
iPhone. Open the address in Safari, then Share, then "Add to Home Screen".
Android. Open the address in Chrome, then the menu, then "Install app".
Once installed, the console opens like an ordinary app, without an address bar.
Signing in
A staff member signs in with the email and password the shop owner gave them in Staff. The owner signs in with their usual credentials.
On the first sign-in the browser asks for permission to send notifications. It is worth granting: otherwise you only learn about new orders by opening the app.
What you can do
- See orders as sets: urgent, new, all
- Change an order status
- Capture held funds, release a hold, issue refunds
- Print forms
- Read the order history and leave notes
Editing the items of an order is not available in the console: on a small screen that is a separate scenario, and the cabinet on a computer is the better place for it.
The interface
The list uses cards rather than a table: a seven-column row is unreadable on a narrow screen. A card shows what a one-second decision is made from: the number, how long the order has been waiting, the total, the money state and the status.
The Urgent set gathers what will be handled first: orders with an expiring hold and those left unpaid for more than a day.

Take a new order
- When you hear the signal, open the console.
- Tap the order card.
- Change the status.
Pick an order short
The items cannot be reduced from the console. Open the order in the cabinet on a computer: there the edit shows how much goes back to the shopper and captures the held funds for the new amount.
Limits and caveats
- Without an internet connection the console says so honestly and does not allow order changes. That is deliberate: showing an order from a stale cache, with the wrong total and status, is worse than showing nothing.
- The new order signal arrives with a delay of up to 15 seconds.
- Sound works while the app is open; when the screen is off, a notification arrives.
- Notifications will not arrive if you denied the browser permission. The permission can be restored in the site or app settings.
